The Sanford Place clients moved into a home with a large unfinished basement. They wanted to create a large, open entertaining space with a wet bar that integrated their existing wine refrigerators. The project also included the addition of a guest bathroom and hidden under-stair storage for their HVAC system.
The Zuni Street client had recently purchased a charming home that had been almost completed renovated by the previous owners. My clients wanted to inject some of their own personality into the remaining spaces that still needed updating. We focused on the laundry room and adjacent breezeway which connects the garage to the house. The patterned concrete tile floors add playfulness while the black, white and walnut wood palette keeps things classic and timeless. The brass hardware and light fixtures are a nod to their love of mid-century design without being over-the-top.
The Osage Street client had recently moved into a brand-new contemporary townhouse with a beautiful steel and oak custom stair. The townhouse had a few large empty feeling spaces that deserved some attention, including the area under the stair and a niche adjacent to the kitchen. After learning that he needed a space to display and store his record player and collection of vinyl records, I proposed a custom media console/desk that tied into a new fireplace mantle with floating shelves above which activates the formerly empty space.
I also proposed adding a bar area in the niche using custom cabinetry designed to match the style of the adjacent kitchen cabinets but in an accent color to add interest and depth to the space.
